Ever find yourself thinking to pack it all up and move away? Which city would you choose? For me, it’s Amsterdam. Let’s forget about the euro to the US dollar ratio and real estate prices… I would love to live there no matter what. Check out more photos at my flickr page:

Some of the best (and costly) chocolates in Amsterdam come from Puccini Bombini – Staalstraat 17.
You haven’t had fries until you’ve had fries with satay and green pepper sauce from Vleminckx Sausmeesters, Voetboogstraat 31.
A stop in Amsterdam is not complete without stopping by Pannenkoekenhuis (Pancake House Upstairs). Excellent traditional Dutch pancakes served in a very small house! Located at Grimburgwal 2.
Noordermarkt in Jordaan.

Amazing Amsterdam pics – thanks for taking me back to a favorite place. If I may ask, what type of camera do you prefer? I hope to own a digital SLR one day, but for now it’s me and my iPhone.
Congrats on being FP!
Thanks! My first SLR was a D90 and unfortunately it was stolen. It was a great starter camera for me. Took me awhile to replace b/c I was so emotionally attached to it – but eventually I purchased a D7000… again another great camera from Nikon.
Beautiful shots ♥
Hi! I found your blog from your Freshly Pressed post – congratulations! – and I love love love your Amsterdam shots! I’m not sure if Upstairs is still kind of a “hidden” thing, but when I was there, they were kind of an off-the-beaten-path place with the most excellent aniseed milk and Grand Marnier pancakes!
Thank you for the fun memories!
Yea, Pancake House Upstairs is no long a hidden gem. Nonetheless, their quality is still top notch! And they still do have the excellent anise milk!:)

I miss the crazy city already…
I had a weekend break in Amsterdam last month. You’re right about the “liveability” factor of the place: I love its relaxed atmosphere and cultural mix. Your night-time photos also capture something I loved about the city, too. I hope you get to return there before too long.

I would love to visit Amsterdam! It looks like a lovely city and since I am part Dutch I’m partial to all things Dutch/The Netherlands related.
